We turn back towards Saint-Malo. The white passenger boat is crossing to Dinard. The skyline of the fortified city is unique, with the cathedral emerging from the high black slate roofs.

Nous faisons demi-tour vers Saint-Malo. Le bateau blanc à passagers relie Dinard. La ville fortifiée a une silhouette unique, avec la cathédrale qui émerge des hauts toits noirs d’ardoise.

We get closer to the city walls and sail along the breakwater and its red light. Other boats are gathering as we wait for the opening of the lock that gives access to the harbour. As in Jersey, the amplitude of tides is huge and the lock only opens for a short while twice a day.

Nous nous rapprochons des ramparts et naviguons le long du môle et de son feu rouge. D’autres bateaux se rassemblent pour attendre l’ouverture de l’écluse qui donne accès au port. Comme à Jersey, le marnage est énorme et l’écluse n’ouvre que pendant deux courtes périodes chaque jour.
