The Kerloas menhir is the biggest megalithic standing stone in France, at about 10 m high. It stands as a landmark on the top of a hill. It used to stand at 12 m high before lightning struck it, its weight is thought to be 150 tons, and it was erected about 4500 years ago. The photo below shows a tall friend (thanks Mark) next to the menhir for scale.

Le menhir de Kerloas est la plus grande pierre dressée mégalithique de France, il fait 10 m de haut. Il est posé comme un repère en haut d’une colline. Il faisait 12 m de haut avant qu’un éclair ne le frappe, son poids est estimé à 150 tonnes, et il a été érigé il y a environ 4500 ans. La photo ci-dessous montre un ami plutôt grand (merci Mark) à côté du menhir pour donner une échelle.
